I've always hoped most when photographing births to bring women the realization of their strength and determination from a point an artists view. I remember the first time I photographed a birth so clearly, the beauty I was able to witness unlike anything I had seen before. The way it brought me to tears and moved me so deeply. My desire is to share those experiences and perspectives of beauty with those that work with me for birth stories.

Nothing else compares to birth. It changes everything spiritually, emotionally, and physiologically, and for this reason I wish all women had the opportunity to have their births photographed. To see themselves beautifully at this sacred, unrivalled time in their lives.

Common Questions

Are you on call for my birth?

For birth documentaries I provide my time on call beginning 2 weeks before your due date until the time of labor.

This is flexible for high risk mamma's or those with a history of early births, just let me know!

How involved are you at my birth?

This is entirely dependent upon every individuals birth plan and preferences. I try to keep my presence as low key and unseen as possible, only photographing active labor in segments until it is time to start pushing. At that point I am photographing everything and anything about the new life in the room

When do you arrive?

Upon hiring me as a your birth photographer I work with you to decide who will be my point of contact when you go into labor. I communicate with this person to gain understanding about how dilated you are, or how you are handling contractions. Often I use the latter as an indicator of when I need to head over as I feel that is a more accurate indicator of labor progression. This is something I discuss more in depth upon inquiry
